village textures... textures del poble...

Returning from our recent residency week in Mas de Barberans it is such a pleasure to look over our photographs and reflect upon all the things that catch our eye. Photography - perhaps unlike many other creative techniques gives us such a spontaneous way of gathering ideas, colours and textures that feed into the creative process. While the main direction of the Ports i Mans residency is researching the potential uses of the many and diverse plants in the environs of Mas de Barberans and the Parc Natural dels Ports it is impossible not to absorb the distinctive qualities of village architecture, the special light and everyday rhythm of looking after the olive groves and vegetable plots.

Després de la nostra recent setmana de residència al Mas de Barberans, és un plaer tornar a mirar les fotografies i reflexionar sobre totes les coses que capten la nostra atenció.  La fotografia ens dóna una manera molt espontània de recollir idees, colors i textures que alimenten el nostre procès creatiu.  Tot i que l'objectiu central de la Residència Ports i Mans és la recerca d'usos potencials de les plantes del entorn del Mas de Barberans i dels Ports, és impossible no integrar les qualitats distintives de la arquitectura del poble, la llum, i el ritme de cada dia de cuidar els camps d'oliveres i els horts.
